the clan was probably furious with her at the moment. with a fox having taken the life of flurrypaw, the clan's beloved medicine cat apprentice, things were on high end with windclan as a whole. the clan wanted vengence, but with the rogues out on the territory as well, redstar wanted to play things extremely safe. which is why she decided to give the clan a couple days to properly mourn the loss of a friend before taking action; she wanted clear heads when facing a fox of this magnitude. it would be tomorrow morning at first light when she would choose a patrol to take along to end things with the fox once and for all. yet now, her time was going to be occupied elsewhere. elsewhere, in beetleberry.
it was the fact that the windclan medicine cat didn't have any proper fighting abilities that turned out to save his life but left flurrypaw helpless to the fact. the medicine cats needed to know how to defend themselves if they were to survive by themselves out on the territory without an escort. with the situation in hand, there wasn't a fiber in her body that was going to allow beetleberry or any future medicine cats to go untrained in the art of fighting. he would learn to defend himself or never leave camp without an escort who could fight, those were the options.
with a heavy sigh escaping her body, tail flicking absently; redstar rose to her paws from where she had just finished eating to begin her way towards the medicine den. this was the only option now, and she blamed herself for not enforcing such a thing sooner rather than letting flurrypaw die because of these actions. taking a seat at the foot of the den, wrapping her tail around her paws, the ginger-pelted leader peered into the den. "beetleberry, we need to talk."
